Senator Saleem Zia is a distinguished legal and political leader with a career spanning over three decades in public service and governance. He holds an L.L.B. from the University of Karachi and furthered his academic credentials with a year of study at the University of California, Berkeley, USA. As a seasoned legal practitioner, he has over ten years of experience as Advocate at Sindh Bar Counsel.
In his extensive political career, Mr. Zia has served at the highest levels of both provincial and national government. He was elected to the Senate of Pakistan for the 2015–2021 term, where he held the influential role of Chief Whip and chaired the Senate Standing Committee on Health. Previously, he served as a Member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh and held ministerial portfolios for Law, Parliamentary Affairs, and Public Health. His foundational experience in governance includes 19 years of service in local government as an Elected Councillor and Vice President of the Clifton Cantonment Board in Karachi.
