Sheharyar I. Khan is a seasoned financial leader with over 25 years of global experience in corporate and investment banking space across Pakistan and the United Kingdom. He currently serves as Senior Executive Vice President and Group Head of the Corporate & Investment Bank at Askari Bank Limited, where he oversees a corporate asset book exceeding PKR 400 Billion along with other verticals such as Investment Banking, Transaction Banking, Financial Institutions & the bank’s only off shore operations franchise (Wholesale Banking, Bahrain) . Sheharyar is a key member of the bank’s leadership committees, including the Management Committee (MANCOM) and the Asset and Liability Committee (ALCO) & Investment Committee (IC).
Prior to his current role, Mr. Khan held senior leadership positions at United Bank Limited (UBL) and the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) in London. At RBS UK, he served as the Global Head of Supply Chain Finance, where he managed a global portfolio of approximately $9 billion and led a cross-functional team across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions. His extensive expertise includes structuring complex offshore financing, managing sovereign relationships, and spearheading significant trade finance growth in multiple international jurisdictions.
Beyond his executive responsibilities, Mr. Khan is a dedicated professional with a strong commitment to governance and public service. He has served as the Chairman of the Board for Askari Securities Limited and held independent directorships, including Chair of the Audit Committee for State Life Insurance Company Ltd. He is also serving as an Independent Director/Member on the National Highway Council (NHC) – the apex policy making body for National Highway Authority (NHA). He holds an MBA from the University of Newcastle, Australia, and is an alumnus of the Leadership Development Program at Brown University, USA.
